DON'T LET BEING PREGNANT GET IN THE WAY OF YOU GETTIN HIGH

We should all learn a valuable lesson from famed UK singer, Amy Winehouse. She was found dead late last week.....Although the cause of death has not been officially released, we all generally suspect the same thing, DRUGS. Winehouse has a history of drug abuse and over the past few years she's been in the news more for her eratic behavior than her soultry songs. The smash hit "Rehab" has given us as fan the needed insight as to her trouble with the addiction. Crack is more powerful than we believe, it is truly a disease and should be treated as such. No one wakes up and makes the decision to be a "CRACK HEAD." Although we are responsible for our own actions, some things become beyond our control......There is a program called C.R.A.C.K., which stands for Children Requiring A Caring Kommunity. It was started by Barbara Harris, who was inspired when she  adpoted four children from the same drug addicted woman. The organization grew slowly....At first, she began working from home and got friends to help her post flyers in numerous major cities and infested neighborhoods. One sign read, " Don't let getting pregnant get in the way of your drug habit." The programs pays addicts to get sterilized (tubal ligation or vasectomy) so stop them from producing babies. This has been a very controversial subject being that some people think its unethical to "take advantage" of their disease. Being that most addicts will do anything for money, it's assummed that the program alters the decision making by offering a $300 award for such a permanent procedure. The program even offers addicts a $50 referral fee for referring other addicts to get sterilized. There are several pros and cons to this program. Growing up around drugs, as a child i was subjected to various circumstances that maybe could have been avoided......but the question comes where as an addict gets clean but cannot have any children because of the choice the drugs caused them to make.......then u could look at it as "what have this world come to"......paying addicts for anything......does this really help society? In a way it does. There would be less children in foster care and less money out of the tax payers pocket/ pocketbooks!!!!!

For those of you that havent been paying attention, Casey Lee Anthony is a young WHITE mother who didnt report her daughter missing until 30 days after she last saw her. When authorities questioned her, she claimed to have left her daughter, Caylee Anthony, 2, with a babysitter, Zanada Gonzales. After finding her information was misleading, in June 2008, she was arrested for child neglect and endangerment, but later realeased on bond. Six months later, the toddler's body was found by a utility worker in a wooded area not far from where the Anthony family lived, but the medical examiner could not determine the cause of death due to the heavy decomposition of the body. Casy was re-arrested and charged with First-degree murder and manslaughter. Once the body was found, with duct tape on the mouth, she claimed her daughter accidently drowned in the family's backyard pool. This is the same woman that tattoed the words "BEAUTIFUL LIFE" on her during the month her daughter was alledgely missing. Casey Anthony was also shown at wild parties drinking and celebrating instead of campaigning for her daughter's safe return.When the verdict was returned this week, she was convicted of only four counts of lying to investigators......WOW.....either her lawyer, Jose Baez is FYE as HECK or she has THAT PAPER, however i, along with the rest of the country was in total disbelief that she was found NOT GUILTY on murder charges....Justice huh? I think not!! Or maybe is it because she is a young, white woman from a prominent family? Who knows? My first thought was that MIKE VICK served Almost 2 years for fighting dogs and she won's serve an hour........But the court has spoken and their word is the only one that counts.

SOME PEOPLE DO NOT NEED CHILDREN

A Nashville woman has been convicted in the precription drug overdose death of her 16 month old daughter, Ava Hannah, giving her an automatic sentence of life in prison. Jennifer Elizabeth Hannah, 33 gave her daughter a mixture of painkillers and anxiety medicine, in a SIPPY CUP, in 2008, which caused her to overdose. Although she provided an earlier testimony that she didnt know who gave the drugs to her daughter, the only people in the home were Jennifer and Ava's haf sister. Hannah's husband, Michael Hannah, found the toddler dead in her play pen after he returned home. Not only did the mother deny the killing, her defense tried to raise suspicions about the father and his involvement with drugs......SADLY he committed suicide in 2009.........that doesnt sound like guilt to me.......it sounds like he was overwhelmed by his daughter's death as well as being accused of such an unthinkable act.

Friday, July 1, 2011 must not have been a great day for criminals. Kelvin Winn was convicted of killing Abdallah Assaedi, a clerk at Sam's market at 1026 Mississippi Blvd in South Memphis. The murder occured on NOV 21, 2008. Being that this particular area is my "OLD STOMPING GROUND", and i knew the clerk, it's refreshing to know that a cold blooded killer is off of the streets. Assaedi, a Yemen immigrant, was a husband and a father of five. After the verdict was read, Winn berated the jurors in saying, "I didnt kill that dude, man, what the ***** is wrong with you, man? I didnt kill that dude." So i guess the surveillance cameras were wrong.....The camera shows a Left Handed man yielding a gun.....the defendant is left handed. He also has a quarter size distintive birthmark on his face, underneath his eye, thats how the eye witness was able to pick him out of the line up! If you are gonna commit crimes, make sure your tats are covered and make sure there's nothing that stand out about you, cause if you dont, then its OV for YOU. He was automatically sentenced to life in prison, and swiftly escorted to a lock up area where he continued to display his displeasure. Although he maintained his innocence, a witness as well as surveillance cameras proved beyond a reasonable doubt that HE WAS GUILTY AS CHARGED.  What's even more disturbing is that the gunman, which was proved to be Winn, could not get the cash register open and escaped with only a few dollars that was left on the floor by a customer who fled the scene after being frightened by the robbery.My question is WHY IN THE **** was he out anyway?  In 2000, Winn plead guilty to carjacking and kidnapping after he and a friend stole a car with a 16 month old baby inside.......uh Excuse me officers, i know selling DRUGS is a crime but how could yall hide people for possession with intent of WHATEVER, but let this dude walk free within 7 years of committing such a heinous crime. AGAIN, JUSTICE IS SERVED.....WELL

BURKS' SHOOTER CONVICTED

When a person goes to jail, it's NEVER a joyus moment, but for every crime, there's eventually TIME!! This story has a slight person affect; There was probably no one more proud when Antonio finally achieved his ultimate goal of being a professional basketball player, being that we grew up together in the same impoverished neighborhood. He gave the "hood" and its children hope and determination, showing us that all things are possible if you believe and work hard. On Friday, July 1, 2011.....Darquan Swift got a hefty first of the month welcome from the jurors in his case. He was found guilty on all counts, including second-degree attempted murder. "I love it," Burks said, after the gulity verdict. This convicted felon not only took Burks' dreams away from him, he also took away his livelyhood, and he mortalized one of our hometown heros. With the injuries he sustained, he is unable to return to the sport he LOVES and suffered a significant pay increase. Being that Basketball is apart of who he is, Burks now coach Men's basketball at Lemoyne Owen College in Memphis, TN. DON'T get it twisted there's no GRATIFICATION in his joy, but  mere JUSTIFICATION!!!!!
